Often times, individuals come to therapy to address problems they aqre having in their relationship. It is possible to get stuck in certain relationship patterns, and no matter what you try, have difficulty breaking free. As trained marriage and family therapists we are relationship experts and use attachment theory as a basis of our work with individuals.

We will explore family of origin, relationships, career paths, mental health concerns, areas in which you feel blocked and trauma themes that reoccur. We will work to get to know this vulnerable part of you and ways in which their needs, desires and wounds are still coming up in your adult life. We will work to find compassion and care for this child and ‘reparent’ your inner child so that it can become integrated into your adult life.

The Benefits of Therapy

Individual therapy is a space that is just for you. It allows you to slow down and connect with your concerns with someone who has compassion and can help you create the same. It is a space to learn new ways of being with yourself and ways to be with others. It is a space to validate you and your unique struggles as a human.

What to expect from your session

We will meet for an assessment to establish your presenting concerns and how we can help. It is beneficial to meet weekly but frequency can vary depending on your needs. Therapy can be short term or long term depending on your specific goals and the level of support that is needed.

We recommend either 50 or 80 minute sessions.
